About this work
Description
Section consists of Vane's pharmacology lectures given whilst at the Royal College of Surgeons. This was a postgraduate course consisting of 21 lectures although only 19 separate lectures are listed here and not all of the lectures may have been given by Vane. Vane returned to the UK from Yale University in 1955 and took up a position in W.D.M. Paton's department of pharmacology at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences of the University of London, which was eventually located at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in London. Vane gained a chair in 1966, and remained there until 1973. Only two of the lectures have associated dates, one from 1962 and one from 1970 which implies that Vane lectured through much of his time at the Royal College of Surgeons.
