Planchon (1823–1888), French pharmacologist and botanist, Natalis Rondot, French specialist on Chinese silks, Professor William Procter (1817–1874), American pharmacist, Sidney H Maltass, of Smyrna, Sir William Jackson Hooker (1785–1865), botanist, Richard Spruce (1817–1893), botanist and traveller, Thomas Anderson (1832–1870), botanist at Calcutta, Charles Tilstone Beke (1800–1874), traveller and geographer, Richard Henry Beddome (1830–1911), botanist in India, Eyre Nicholas Champion de Crespigny (1821–1895), assistant surgeon at Rutnagherry, India, Hugh Francis Clarke Cleghorn (1820–1895), surgeon at Madras, Sir Robert Hermann Schomburgk (1804–1865), British consul at Bangkok, Henry Fletcher Hance (1827–1886), botanist in Hong Kong, and George Henry Kendrick Thwaites (1812–1882), botanist in Ceylon.
