Description

Photograph of the first folio of the King Theodore's Bible, an Ethiopic manuscript written on vellum with a tooled leather binding, with script in red and black. It was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at auction in 1930 for £180 (accession number 62892). In 1942 the item was given by the Museum to Emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie.
