Description

The man in drag is apparently Able Seaman Arthur Roach, a crew member of the H.M.S. Prince of Wales, posing behind a wooden fence and in front of a painted background.

The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "A.B.S Arthur Roach is wearing a rather odd hybrid outfit, part showgirl/courtesan (ruffles and jewellery)/part little girl at the seaside (very short skirt, bucket and spade). High quality sepia toned gelatin print by H.J. Bond, Gosport."
