Description
The volume comprises a collection of stamps, first day covers, biographies and press cuttings relating to the discovery of the double helix and DNA, genetics, genomics and Francis Crick, James Watson and Maurice Wilkins, winners of the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Some of the items come with annotations and captions made by Gwen Prout. The stamps come from all over the world covering Europe, Africa, Oceania, Asia, North America and South America.
The file also includes some information about the following geneticists, molecular biologists and biochemists: Sir Alec Jeffreys, Catherine Verfaillie, Christine Van Broeckhoven, Leonard Lerman, Jenny Graves, Rosalind Franklin, Raymond Gosling, Erwin Chargaff, Edwin M. Southern.
