I, James Darsie Morrison, 27 Grange Road, Edinburgh, Scotland, North Britain, Surgeon Dentist, do hereby declare the nature of my said invention to he as follows ;— This invention relates to bathing the whole body in a running stream of 5 air, heat, and moisture, whereby to set up, and keep up, between the blood and the body, two equal and opposite electrical activities, the one, that of the positive, which mechanico-chemically charges the blood with a high electrical energy, and the other, that of the negative, which discharges the body of its decompositions. In order to quite clearly comprehend my invention it will be well to keep in 10 mind that bionomical research has made known the fact that all animal organiza¬ tions are just so many sub-systems of nature, which are, or ought to be, not only, in harmony with all their own local conditions, but in sympathy with all the laws of the universe. Bionomy—the science of the laws of life—seeks to set up, within every family 15 circle, an exact science of home hygiene, whereby every individual may, not only, quite easily, purify his or her blood, but, by reason of a pure body, make it equally impossible to take infection, or to give it. To this personal purification of the body, must come the only true science of public health. To thus take up the initiative of an entirely new institution of health for the 20 people, whereby each individual may contribute a higher health towards the wealth • of the world, I shall now briefly describe the household bionomic bath. The bionomic bath, as its name denotes, has for its object the practical applica¬ tion of the laws of life, to the exalting of the health of the people ; and which may be briefly described as follows :— 25 The bionomic bath, as intended to be made and used naturally divides itself into three separate descriptions ; the bath as a whole ; how it is built or put together; and how best to use it in order to get out of it all the advantages that are in it. The bath as a whole may be said to look like an enclosed wardrobe, having within it at one end a very high heating stove-range, at the other end, the means 30 of letting fall a shower of chemically pure warm water ; and, in the middle, the place proper for the bather to exercise any muscle, or muscles, while bathing in the running streams of air, heat, and moisture. The bath, as a whole, or in part may, or may not, be made either a conductor or an insulator. The general make up of the bath, which may be made of any non-conducting 35 material, is that of a kind of tent, or small room, and, of course, fairly airtight throughout, except at certain places where the streams of air, heat and moisture enter the bath to expend their streaming energies, and also where the streams, together or separately, make their respective exits. W ithin this tent or small room (itself a complete electrical gymnasium), there are fitted up all manner of 40 metal tubular appliances to enable the bather, at will, and while bathing in the running streams of air, heat, and moisture, to take any required exercises, which may, or may not, be set to nature and to music. These metal appliances have three separate uses : First, because being made of metal, they are used as the best conductors of electricity and heat, to conduct, direct from the bather to the earth, ali 45 the negative electrifications no longer required.
