    AS the Plan of the DISPENSARY for GENERAL IN O C U L AT ION feems to be the only one by which the falutary effe&s of Inoculation can be fufficiently extended to a very numerous and ufeful clafs of people, the Poor of this Metropolis, the fuccels of the above Inftitution becomes a matter of public importance. An obje&ion has however been made to this Inftitution, by fome who ftand high in the efteem of the public, and whofe opinion of it, therefore, ought to have been delivered with greater caution, left, in endeavouring to prevent an imaginary evil> they fhould rafhly nip in the bud a national good• But, as the falfity of the obje&ion alluded to, is clearly fhewn in the inclofed Treatife, it has been thought expedient to tranfmit it to you, that the caufe of humanity may not fuffer by the afjertions of thofe who feem to have taken but little pains to inform themfelves of faffs.
