(This Invention received Provisional Protection, but notice to proceed with the application for Letters Patent was not given within the time prescribed by the Act.) PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION left by Charles LanChester Neale at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents, with his Petition, on the 13th July 1855. I, Charles Lanchester Neale, of 1, Chapel Place, Cavendish Square, 5 London, do hereby declare the nature of the said Invention for 66 A New Medicinal Lotion, to be called the Crimean Neuralgic Specific,” to be as follows:— The use of this lotion to all affections of the nerves or neuralgic complaints after one or more applications effects a speedy and infallible cure, but will in all 10 instances give immediate relief; it consists of three liquid ingredients (of the ordinary commercial strength): one pint of rose water distilled, one table spoonsfull of the best distilled white vinegar, and six drops of laudanum. The proportions of this lotion may be altered, arriving at nearly the same beneficial effect, but the above quantities are recommended. It is to be applied to the 15 parts affected on a piece of linen, and gently rubbed over the painful part until the pain ceases, which will speedily take place. This lotion does not leave any marks on the painful part, as is generally the case with other lotions, balsams, or compounds used for the above ailments.
