Biographical note

Originally the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Royal College of General Practitioners's Family Planning Sub Committee (started in 1971) to which the FPA added a representative in 1972, the Joint Committee on Contraception was so renamed in 1973. It was responsible for the training of doctors and nurses in family planning.
