Description
Letters sent to Francis Galton in response to his request for information on free-martins [freemartins: an infertile female mammal], received from John Evans, John Algernon Clarke, Henry Corbet, Thomas Duckham, and Sebastian Evans.
The letters contains definitions of the term freemartin, discussion of its etymology, and details of cases known to the authors. Also present are 2 folios of notes in Galton's hand, detailing the occupations and addresses of some of his correspondents.
