About this work
Description
Correspondence with David M Paul, Technical Communications Specialist for the Atlantic Research Corporation. Correspondence concerns an invitation by Paul for Penrose to demonstrate a self-reproducing device at the upcoming Century 21 Exposition in Seattle in 1962. After further discussion it is resolved that Paul requires a demonstration of the mode in which DNA chains form the template for the formation of complementary chains, which Penrose's models do not show.
Enclosed are a report of the Can Genes be Synthesized? demonstration at the Expo, and a sketch showing methods proposed by Dr Arthur Kornberg, eventually used in the demonstration.
