Biographical note
In 1997 the Wellcome Trust commissioned Coopers & Lybrand to undertake a risk review of the Trust and recommend controls for managing risk. The Wellcome Trust Risk Review Committee, renamed the Governance and Management Group, was set up in 1998 to take forward the findings of the risk review. The group comprised members of the Board of Governors and Board of Management and the first meeting was held on 1 February 1998.
