About this work

Description

The Policy Research Department at the NCT has been involved in various aspects of maternity care including promoting woman-centred, evidence-based care, as well as offering training and support to user representatives on maternity service committees. Activities of the department include campaigning and lobbying on maternity services; providing NCT commentary and input in consultations, select committees and reports; planning conferences; and conducting new research.

Papers relating to the NCT's work on Changing Childbirth are not grouped together. However, some relevant papers can be found in the subject files series; newsletters of the Changing Childbirth Implementation Team can be found under Publications: SA/NCT/J/2/7.

There is some crossover in this section with work produced by the Research and Information Group, and as a result, some papers from RIG may be found within Policy Research section. Additionally, reports and publications collected by NCT, can be found within the Library and Information Service section (SA/NCT/K). For talks and media statements given by Mary Newburn, refer to SA/NCT/M/3.
