Photograph of an engraving by Thompson-Longmore showing a stretcher designed by the M?ori people to transport the sick in New Zealand, with caption in German underneath. This reproduction was taken from Bartels, Max (Maximilian): Die Medicin der Naturvölker : ethnologische Beiträge zur Urgeschichte der Medicin, Leipzig : T. Grieben (L. Fernau), 1893.
