Description
Institutionum medicarum Pars I et II. Lecture notes taken down by Thomas Parise, from the dictation of Francesco Serao. Contents: [Prohemium] (pp. 1-8). Pars. I. Liber I. Anatomia (pp. 9-102); II. De generatione hominis (pp. 107-131); III. De temperamentis (pp. 131-137); IV. De humoribus (pp. 137-151); V. De spiritu (pp. 151-157); VI. De facultatibus animae (pp. 157-266; Pars. II. Antepractica (142 pp.). The writer's name appears on p. 103 and on p. 166. A note by him dated 1734 is found on the unnumbered leaf after p. 166, mentioning the arrival of Spanish troops 'in mea regione Carneliani' [? Carniola]. These are notes of part of the lectures of Cirillus on the Institutes of Medicine, delivered by Francesco Serao [1702-1783] who was his pupil and successor to the chair of anatomy at Naples in 1733. In both cases his name is written 'Sarrao'. Produced in Naples.
