Correspondence between the authors regarding the paper and also with the publisher including; letter sent to John Maddox (editor of Nature) submitting the paper (26 August 1966); letter from Collier to Vane enclosing Piper's abstract (1 September 1966); letter from Piper to Vane enclosing copies of the paper (12 January 1967).

Copies of the photograph to be used as figure 1 in the paper (X33/24/1774).
