Description
Experimental notebook. The penicillin work begins on p.35. On p.33, dated 3 Sep 1939, Heatley notes: 'War declared by Great Britain against Germany' and 'Work began with Professor Florey 1 Oct 1939'.
Entries are in blue and red ink, with an occasional note in pencil. There is a manuscript note in the hand of P. (later Sir Paul) Fildes pasted into one of the unnumbered pages at the end of the book. The volume is indexed at the back.
