About this work

Description

These papers were collected by the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre on 15th December 1983 from the home of Madeleine Simms, former Press Officer and General Secretary of the Abortion Law Reform Association and co-author of Abortion Law Reformed. They supplement the collection of ALRA papers received from the Institute of Medical Sociology, Aberdeen, which includes some of Madeleine Simms' papers-mainly in Section B. The papers, which date mostly from the post-1967 Abortion Act period, were received in a confused state, and have been sorted into the groups indicated in the outline list. They deal mainly with abortion and allied subjects such as contraception and demography. There is one restricted item which is closed until December 2012.
