About this work

Description

Correspondence with Dr S R Gloyne.

The file includes a letter (21 May, 1948) from Doll to Dr E R A Merewether, Senior Medical Officer, Ministry of Labour. With reference to "the aetiology of cancer of the lung," Doll writes: " ... one point I am particularly interested in developing is a suggestion of Dr Gloyne's of a relation with asbestosis. It should be possible to get an answer to this problem. I don't feel myself that the evidence so far is very convincing but I would like to look into it a bit further and I thought perhaps you might be able to help me over it."
