Description
Alphabetically arranged index cards for 539 patients who underwent Leucotomy operations at Crichton Royal Hospital. Cards contain patient name, date of admission, register number, date of operation, age on operation, age on first attack, duration of present attack, time in hospital before operation, date of discharge, whether patient has undergone Insulin or E.C.T. treatment, diagnosis of condition, occupation, home address and remarks. On the reverse of some cards there are dated follow up notes regarding the patient's post operative progress.

The first Leucotomy operation was performed at Crichton Royal Hospital in 1943 in the operating theatre at Easterbrook Hall.
