Biographical note
The US Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, also known as the Senate Narcotics Caucus, was established in August 1985. It was originally called the United States Commission on International Narcotics Control, but its name was changed in November of the same year. The Caucus was created to monitor and promote US government and private activity against drug trafficking and abuse, and promote international compliance with relevant treaties. The Caucus is a formal body of the US Senate, and as such has the status of a standing committee.
