Minute Book: Working Committee with African Explosives & Chemical Industries Ltd (AE&CI Ltd)

Minute book 4, described as 'Cooper & Nephews South Africa (Pty) Ltd, AE&CI Agreement: Minutes of Working Committee Meetings'. The 'I' in 'AE&CI' is mistakenly given as a figure '1' on the spine.

Meetings usually took place at Coopers' offices.

There is an index at the front of this volume.

The working committee met monthly for the most part, with occasional breaks.

The committee comprised two representatives from AE&CI, and three from Coopers, although fewer people sometimes attended.

Secretarial support for the committee was provided by Coopers.

Most of the meetings discuss a monthly sales report, showing the state of the markets in which the two companies were involved.

There are some presented papers as well as minutes in this volume.

A note about supply of a disinfectant containing a high percentage of water appears on p. 174 (stuck on folio p. 72).

Most of the minutes note work done in East Africa in a special part of the documentation.

On p. 256 there is a note stating that Coopers were badly undercut on a contract for disinfectant supply, and that they are trying to get a sample of what was actually supplied, to compare it with their own product.

Inside the front cover is a note indicating who the minutes were circulated to at Berkhamsted.
