English cuff type microscope by John Marshall, c.1704, described in Harris' Lexicon Technicum, 1704. The item was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1926 (accession number R17665 and R17/1949). It is now held by the Science Museum (object number A56281).
