Description

Praxis medica commentariis illustrata. Notes of lectures, written by Filippo Novellino. Ff. 131-157 contain a 'Paregbasis [sic]' on medical astrology and chiromancy, illustrated by pen-drawn figures. Contents: Liber primus: De morbis regionis animalis, seu capitis (ff. 1-84). Dated 1731 on fol. 1: at the end 'xv Mensis Martii 1732 apud A. et M.D. Nicolaum Cyrillo in Regio Gymnasio'. Liber II. De morbus regionis vitalis (ff. 85-177). On fol 85 'A. et M.D. Nicolaus Cirillo, die 20 octobris 1733': at the end (fol. 177v) 'Hic pro bellicis timoribus finem dedi v Aprilis 1734'. This section is unfinished. Ff. 178-186 are blank. Liber tertius: De morbis regionis naturalis (ff. 187-303). In the lower margin of fol. 187 'Die 20a Mensis Octobris Anno 1730 in Cathedra Primaria A.M.D. Nicolai Cyrilli in inclyto Coenobio. Divi Dominici Neapolim, etc. Philippus de Novellino attente illum audivi'. A similar inscription signed and dated '21 Mensis Aprilis 1730' is found at the end of the text on fol. 303. Produced in Naples.
