Freemasonry

HSW was introduced to Freemasonry by RC Sudlow in 1885, and was elected as Worshipful Master to several Lodges including Columbia Lodge, Fidelity Lodge and The Savage Club Lodge, between 1894 and 1898. Many of his brother Freemasons were also members of the American Society in London, and HSW's dispute with Society members in 1898 led to his resignation from office at Columbia Lodge.
