The author was surgeon to the hospitals in 1862, and was appointed professor of genito-urinary surgery at the Necker Hospital in Paris. He was later professor of surgical pathology at the Faculté de Médecine, Paris. [Cf. B.M.J., 1920, i, p. 216].
