Urquhart's correspondence gives details of the Turkish Bath in Jermyn Street, which he helped to establish (1860-1861), and his involvement with other similar institutions.

Biographical note
David Urquhart (1805-1877) was a diplomat and a pioneer of the Turkish Bath in the United Kingdom, helping to establish one in Jermyn Street, London.
His wife Harriet Angelina Urquhart (née Fortesque) was a minor literary figure under the pen-name 'Caritas'.
