    A genuine and well-proved Herbal Medicine. CEREVISIA ANGLICANA; OR, ENGLISH HERB DIET-DRINK, DISCOVERED BY JOSHUA WEBSTER, M.D., The Celebrated Botanist, Inventor of Dr. James’s Powders, Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, London; and highly approved of and mentioned in the Works of the eminent Abernethy; also by Van Buchell and other Medical Practitioners. Dr. Joshua Webster was called in and consulted in the last illness of His Majesty George II. He most beneficially prescribed the Cerevisia Anglicana, or English Diet- Drink, during an extensive practice, for 50 years (living to the advanced age of 95), and finally communicated the recipe to the present Proprietors, E. Slee and Co., who prepare the Medicine with the utmost care, and from the purest ingredients that can be obtained. This old established Herbal Medicine stands unrivalled as a SURE PURIFIER OF THE BLOOD, AND INVALUABLE AS A POWERFUL RESTORATIVE. Amongst its many patrons are families of high standing, who, having proof of its medicinal efficacy, have spontaneously given their testimony and reference, confirming beyond doubt how highly successful it has proved in cases of ERUPTIONS, SKIN DISEASES, and SCROFULA,—INDIGESTION,—GENERAL and NERVOUS DEBILITY,—INCIPIENT CONSUMPTION, — BRONCHITIS, INFLUENZA, and ASTHMA, — RHEUMATIC AFFECTIONS, — LIVER COMPLAINTS, — and ALMOST A SPECIFIC IN REMOVING THE BAD EFFECTS OF MERCURIALS. A Pamphlet, containing many remarkable cases of cure, published by distinct permission, can be obtained through the post. The Proprietors of this valuable and universal Medicine, after a fair trial of its remedial virtues, during which its general curative properties have been well tested by a large circle, confidently offer the benefits to be derived from so important a discovery. The Cerevisia Anglicana, or English Diet-Drink, when taken for Eruptions and in cases arising from impurity of the blood, may at first appear to aggravate ; but this circumstance, instead of creating disquietude, should be considered as the surest indication of a permanent cure. Sold in octagon square-shaped bottles, impressed, “Dr. Joshua Webster’s Cerevisia Anglicana;” duplex, “Prepared only by Edwd. Slee & Co., London,” with Crest and Motto, “ Vincit amor patrie,” and the signature on the Label and Government Stamp, at 2s. 9d., 4s. 6d., and 11s. each, by all Chemists and Patent Medicine Vendors (classified in Vendors’ Lists as Webster’s Diet-Drink).
