Description

Photograph of a pill slab or tile, which was used to make pills and mix ointments. The original tile is Lambeth delftware with a blue and white design bearing the arms of the Society of Apothecaries and the City of London below, circa 1700. The tile was previously part of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum/Wellcome Institute, but is no longer held by Wellcome Collection.
