Biographical note
Aikin, Charles Rochemont (1775-1847), surgeon, born in Lancashire. He gained the diploma of the Company of Surgeons in July 1799. Aikin was involved with implementing the smallpox vaccination and had an interest in Chemistry. In 1847, he died of dropsy.
