The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Stan Bennett in 'Splinters', dressed in an exotic outfit highly influenced by silent screen vamp Theda Bara. Stan Bennett was one of the original members of the Splinters troupe of ex-servicemen, who, having gained experience acting in drag with World War I concert parties, organized themselves into a commercial act and enjoyed great success performing at music hall well into the 1930s."
