Description
This is the first volume of reports covering Dr C. C. Easterbrook's period, each volume includes a prefatory and historical note on the years covered. Several additional reports are found in this volume including a supplementary report by a 'Special Committee of Directors appointed to Visit to Certain Asylums, Clinics and Laboratories, at Home and Abroad' in the 71st report for 1910, detailing visits to 21 establishments in the UK, France, Germany and Austria. Also included in the 71st report is a report by one of the hospital Directors who took part in the visits, Mr Hugh Gladstone, raising some objections to recommendations made by the Special Committee and specifically the establishement of a laboratory at Crichton Royal. In the 74th report for 1913, 'Notes on a Visit to some Mental Hospitals and Clinics in the United States of America and Canada', which was undertaken to gain information to assist with further building and expansion at Crichton Royal, specifically in relation to the provision of a 'Central Recreational and Therapeutical Building', is included. In the 75th to 78th reports for 1914 to 1917 there is an Institution Roll of Honour.
