IOA Harrowgate: Jubilee Exhibition

Files contain papers, photos and correspondence relating to the 1987 International Orthoptic Congress held in Harrogate. Jubilee Exhibition including a commemorative booklet, letter to Mary Maddox, historical information on the society, copy of the hand out for the exhibition, appendices forthe show, correspondence, posters for the exhibition, invitations to the jubilee dinner at the House of Commons, menu, photographsof the event and a speech. Also included in the file are 50 photographs that were packed with the material, possibly used for the Jubilee exhibition as a glimpse into the history of the society. Most of these photos have a duplicate in the 'Photographs' section of the catalogue (SAOPS/E). The pictures include photographs of dinners and conferences as well as a photograph of a young Queen Elizabeth II examining some orthoptic equiptment.
