Biographical note
The Emergency Red Cross Service was based at Leeds General Hospital, where it remained in 1946, moving to the Seacroft site in 1948. In 1986 a new laboratory complex was built in the grounds of the Seacroft Hospital and opened on 6 Nov by HRH The Duchess of Kent. In 1988 a new donor suite, now the Clinical Transfusion Unit was opened on 8 Jun by Sir Bryan Askew, Chairman of Yorkshire Regional Health Authority
