Council (later known as Council of Trustees, then Board of Trustees)

The NCT Council was the governing and policy making body of the NCT, responsible for the overall strategy and activities of the Trust. Staff, subcommittees and membership at large reported to Council for all activities carried out in the name of NCT. Following a Management Meeting of Trustees held 10-11 July 1992 in Oxford, it was agreed that Council would be known as the Council of Trustees, with Council members recognised and known as Trustees. In 2000, the Council of Trustees was renamed the Board of Trustees.

Includes minutes and meeting papers of the NCT Council, as well as related correspondence, papers and reports relating to NCT matters, including reports of specialist committees and working groups.

Meeting papers generally include items for discussion and items for information, including: minutes of the previous meeting of the Council of Trustees; minutes of the Council Executive Committee (formerly known as the Policy and Administration Team); reports to the Council; minutes of NCT specialist committees and panels; update reports from committee chairs, CEO, etc; memoranda and correspondence; proposals or initiatives for consideration; financial records including management reports and annual accounts; and other papers relating to the activities of the NCT Council. Prior to acquisition, a number of these records were disturbed and the original order lost. Where possible, this order has been restored, however many of the files have been articifically reconstructed, and there may be substantial duplication across files.
