    IV that whatever impression it may leave upon their minds, they will not rest satisfied with its perusal, but will do themselves the justice more fully to investigate the subject. 1 o enable them to do so, a list of works is subjoined, from the study of any of which, they will certainly obtain sufficient in¬ formation relative to the doctrines of which they treat, to enable them to form an impartial judg¬ ment. All that the Unitarian wishes of his fellow Christians is, that they will consider with candour the evidence he adduces in favour of his opinions, lie is too well acquainted with the nature of the human mind, and has had too much experience to expect that every person will be convinced by his arguments; but he does hope, that il all who are interested in these inquiries, would listen to him with that attention which one serious and sensible Christian has a right to demand from another, they would no longer cherish those un¬ generous suspicions, those ignorant and contemp¬ tible prejudices which he mourns, not on his own account but on theirs. To the Members of the Society, before whom it was preached, and at whose request it is pi mien, in the fervent hope that it may contribute, in however small a degree, to the promotion of the enlightened and benevolent oojects they aie en¬ deavouring to accomplish, this Discomse is le- spectfully and affectionately dedicated by their fellow labourer in the diffusion of the simple, the holy, the uncorrupted Gospel of Christ,- The Author.
