Biographical note

The publication 'Family Planning Today' was first published in September 1976 and produced bi-monthly by the FPA. It replaced the quarterly journal 'Family Planning' and the monthly newspaper 'FP News' in providing information on developments in contraception and related topics. It was supplemented by a quarterly newsletter giving details about FPA work in general which was not suitable for inclusion in 'Family Planning Today'. The last of these quarterly newsletters appeared in November 1979, after which newsletters were only to be published when items were of special interest. The FPIS took over the responsibility for producing 'Family Planning Today' in 1978 after it had become established.
