Combined lucernal and compound microscope signed on the body tube "Adams, Inventors, London" and intended to be used as a lucernal, projection and compound microscope, with a mahogany case containing accessories. Only one other type of this microscope was known to have been made by Adams at the time the microscope was accessioned. The item was purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1925 and accessioned in 1927 (accession numbers R27746 and R58/1949). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
