Reproduction of two oil paintings, one of John Caius (1510-1573), English physician and second founder of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and one of Thomas Linacre (1460-1524), English humanist scholar and physician . The portraits are reproduced in Osler, William, Sir: The evolution of modern medicine : a series of lectures delivered at Yale University on the Silliman Foundation, in April, 1913, New Haven : Yale University Press, 1921.

Please note that only the portrait of John Caius was digitised as part of the "M series" images. A digitised version of the portrait of Thomas Lineacre was digitised as image L0001747
