Biographical note

The author was a pupil of Charcot at the Salpêtrière in 1889 and professor of neurology at the Pantilimon Hospital, Bucharest in 1897. In 1936 he was elected Honorary Member of the Académie de Médecine, Paris and Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, London.
