The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Publicity postcard for Rock Hudson (born Roy Scherer, Jnr.; 1925-1985). A Hollywood leading man for over thirty years, his sexuality was an open secret in the film business, but he was publicly outed when dying from AIDS-related illness, the first major public personality to do so".
