About this work

Description

"Honest Jim" by J D Watson, dated 1967 on the title page. A draft (photocopy typescript) of The Double Helix subsequent to "Base Pairs" and subsequent to the earlier draft with the same title (that is, PP/CRI/I/3/8/2).

The text includes Bragg's Foreword (identical to the Forword in PP/CRI/I/3/8/1). Watson's Preface (dated "January 1967") includes an additional sentence at the end of the initial paragraph that would be retained: "In any event, this account represents the way I saw things then - in 1951-53 - the ideas, the people, and myself."
