About this work

Description

Notebook compiled by Storrs mainly comprising case histories from his own practice at Doncaster, but including in addition several longer retrospective analyses of outbreaks of disease in the locality, notably visitations of cholera from 1832 (ff.68-93), but also scarlet fever (ff.104-110), influenza (ff.114-120) and puerperal fever in 1841 (ff.128-143). Many of the case histories are embedded in these longer narratives, and in general the cases are entered thematically rather than chronologically, implying that Storrs wrote them up or at least transcribed them from earlier notes some time after the event.
