Photograph of a watercolour painting by Henry Wilkin after Benjamin Wilson of Richard Russell (1687-1759), a British physician famous for encouraging his patients to bathe in and drink sea water as a form of treatment, c.1755. The painting was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (PD 83-3-13).
