Correspondence and other material relating to debates amongst Western scientists about the controversial experimental research of Trofim Denisovich Lysenko. Lysenko was an agronomist and biologist whose theories relating to the inheritance of acquired characteristics dominated the field of biology in the Soviet Union in the 1930s and 1940s.
