Minute Book: Board of directors

This volume contains minutes of meetings of the board of directors, and some AGMs of the company. There are also some related papers, such as resolutions. There are more records of AGMs in WF/C/S/27/03. Meetings were most often held for statutory purposes, but also discussed the administration of the company, its performance, and particular transactions, which could be completed at the relevant meeting. Meetings took place infrequently. Many of the copies of minutes and papers in this volume have been signed. On p. 1 there is a copy of the signed document appointing the first directors of the company. Early minutes are in a confused order, and some duplicate minutes found in WF/C/S/27/01. There is an index at the front of this volume, but it has hardly been used. A change in the company's bank account as a result of the takeover of Cooper McDougall & Robertson Ltd by the Wellcome Foundation Ltd is documented on p. 50. pp. 70 onwards are blank, though a few sheets (including minutes) have been fixed into a folder at the rear of the volume.
