About this work

Description

This book is not the 'last word' about land use and ownership, rather it is a contribution to an ongoing debate on these topics. We are hoping that it will be useful as a tool for the rapidly growing movement of people who are seeking access to land. Redistribution of land is a precondition for the emergence of an ecologically viable agriculture. It will become apparent to the reader that the authors of this book are not ideologically uniform; that is, the various essays represent a variety of different approaches to the question of land. However the implicit assumption is that it is possible to find a synthesis between politcal, economic, ecological and social approaches."-- From Foreword (page 2).
