Description
Transmission electron micrograph of a
cross section of a small blood vessel in the
corneal limbus adjacent to a corneal ulcer.
Endothelial cells line the vessel and are
surrounded by pericytes. RBCs are visible inside
the vessel. To the left of the vessel is a plasma
cell and to the left of this is a phagocytic cell
with ingested contents. Below the phagocytic cell
is a fibroblast. The surrounding matix contains
cell debris and broken down collagen.
