This recording is part of a series of interviews with former colleagues and pupils of pioneering cardiologist, Sir Thomas Lewis. The interviews were conducted by Dr. Arthur Hollman in preparation for his biography on Lewis: 'Sir Thomas Lewis: pioneer cardiologist and clinical scientist', London; New York: Springer, c1996. This interview is with Dr. Hugh Sinclair on 8 November 1988. Sinclair was a nutrition expert at Magdelene College, Oxford and a student at UCH. He was the tutor at Oxford of Christopher Lewis, Sir Thomas' son.

This tape is part of a collection donated to Wellcome Trust by Dr. Arthur Hollman in 2007. The tapes contain oral history interviews conducted by Dr Hollman between 1974 and 1990 with a grant from the Wellcome Trust. The interviews are largely with former colleagues and pupils of Sir Thomas Lewis and two are with Lady Lewis. They provide an invaluable source of first-hand information about Lewis and the medical world during his time, with personal recollections going back as far as 1920.
