Description
Burgess says the portrait shows Hunter "aged about 46", which would date the portrait to 1774, and Keith (1928) implies c.1772-1774, but this is not feasible, since Home was in Rome 1773-7. Hunter appears older than in the first portrait by Home of ca. 1770 (information from Dr Ian Rolfe, 3 March 2005)
